In this commentary Robin Lake and Sivan Tuchman argue that people are asking the wrong questions about how school choice may best serve students with disabilities. The authors support efforts to ensure all sorts of school choice are designed carefully to serve all students.  But they caution that advocates of students with disabilities are missing the forest for the trees, as school choice can dramatically expand the power that parents have to pursue what they believe is best for their children.  They make a strong case for more nuance and reframing of how we think about these issues.
