Safal knows that early childhood education is the bedrock of a child’s academic journey. That’s why we’ve been so pleased to have supported Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA) during the planning phase of the TEA Community Partnership Grant to increase the quality of all early childhood learning centers in their region.
As the technical assistance provider, Safal Partners worked with PSJA to engage the community in a way that has never been done before, including a stakeholder convening at the beginning of the project. We heard feedback from this engaging convening such as:
- “This was very very good…like my dream coming true.” –An Early Start Campus Administrator
- “I’m so happy I just want to cry.” –A project manager of the Community Partnership
Our team worked with PSJA to develop a plan for tracking and assessing the performance of all early childhood education providers with fidelity. We created dashboards analyzing baseline data for the four elementary schools over the past three years, including kinder-readiness, ELL status, and Pre-K education status. We also created a dashboard visualization of the childcare centers in the grant, which elementary schools they feed into, their accreditation level, and the nature of their partnership with the district.
As part of this, Safal CEO and founder Mukta Pandit and Safal team members also led vision-setting and logic model workshops where campus leaders had deep discussions and ultimately came up with a vision for early childhood education for their campuses.

We are so proud to hear that PSJA has been awarded a follow-up grant for implementation to build upon the work they have done these past few months, and grateful for the part we played in supporting their success.
